Location & First Impressions
Khem Beach is one of the best private beaches on Phu Quoc, and the resort has it entirely to itself. Rooms face east, so you get real sunrises if you’re up early enough. Hon Thom Cable Car, the water park, and Sunset Town are all about 5 minutes by car — the south side makes a solid base for exploring the island.
The university theme hits the second you walk in, and it doesn’t stop at the lobby — it follows you all the way to your room.

Room I stayed in #1 — Anthropology Building, Deluxe Double Bedroom
Every room here comes with an ocean view and a balcony, and this one was no exception. Kids under 12 eat breakfast free (up to 2 per room) — genuinely useful if you’re traveling with family.
The Anthropology building doesn’t hold back on wall art. Bamboo-framed illustrated portraits of tribal and traditional dress from around the world cover the walls, and the bathroom has two carved 3D face masks mounted on the wall — a woman in a conical Vietnamese hat, and a man beside her. There’s a shell-shaped wall sconce and a Gauguin-style tropical painting too. I walked a full lap of the room before I even unpacked.
Room I stayed in #2 — Architecture Building, Turquoise Suite
Living room, bedroom, bathroom, two balconies, a private clock tower, and a private pool connected by a spiral staircase. The rooftop pool is the highlight — ocean on one side, green hills on the other. Even the small details, like the carpet pattern and framed art, stick to the architecture theme.
⚠️ Only 2 rooms in the entire resort have a private pool. Book early if that’s non-negotiable, especially for a honeymoon.
Concept aside, the room quality itself holds up. Bathrooms are spacious, and the tub and sink finishes feel genuinely upscale — this isn’t a gimmick dressed up as a 5-star stay.
