Phu Quoc Couple & Honeymoon Itinerary: A Real Romantic 4-Day, 4-Night Route from 6 Years on the Island
After six years living here, I can say this: Phu Quoc is great for families, but when a couple comes, you get these genuinely cinematic moments. The view from the cable car, fireworks watched from your own terrace, a sunset from a rooftop bar — this isn’t a travel-agency package itinerary pulled from a search. It’s the actual route I’ve walked, over and over.
This is a realistic romantic route built around a late-night arrival.

Day 1 — Evening Arrival, Budget Mini-Hotel
If you’re landing at night, go with a mini-hotel inside Sunset Town, about 30 minutes from the airport. Plenty of options run $20–35 a night, with clean beds and a quiet street outside — exactly what you want after a long travel day. Places like Le Bonheur Hotel or Times Corner Sorrento Boutique Hotel, both small hotels inside Sunset Town, work well for this.
Day 2 — La Festa, the Cable Car, and Your First Romantic Night
After checking out in the morning, grab pho for breakfast in Sunset Town, then head to La Festa Hilton to drop your bags. It’s right in the center of Sunset Town, so an ocean-view terrace room gets you sea breeze and a view of the European-styled buildings all at once.

Around 11am, take the cable car across to Hon Thom Island. It’s a 17-minute ride over open water, and the ticket includes water park and amusement park entry, so pack swimsuits. Plan to head back out around 3pm.
Spend the afternoon relaxing by the resort pool, then book a couples massage in the evening to work out the day’s tiredness. At night, hit the Sunset Town night market for dinner, then close things out with the Kiss of the Sea show (fireworks included) — a solid way to end the day.

💡 Tip — Several resorts, including La Festa, JW Marriott, New World, Premier Residences and Premier Village, offer free admission to the Kiss of the Sea show for guests. Worth checking when you book.
Day 3 — Island Hopping, a Rooftop Bar, and Fireworks From Your Room
After breakfast, join a southern island-hopping tour. You’ll snorkel around 3–4 small islands, and it makes for great photos — a solid pick for a couple’s day out.

The tour ends at An Thoi Port, so head straight to the nearby An Thoi Market and catch sunset with a cocktail at a rooftop bar. It’s the kind of golden-hour view that looks like it’s out of a movie.
Get back to your room before the 9:30pm fireworks start — watching them from your own terrace is a perfect way to close out the day.
Day 4 — Heading North, Grand World and Oceanview Cocktails
After checking out of La Festa, it’s about an hour north to Camia Resort to drop your bags, then on to Grand World — a good spot for photos and a stroll.

In the afternoon, enjoy cocktails and a meal with ocean views at 40six Beach Haus — the view and atmosphere alone make it worth the stop for a couple’s trip. In the evening, check into Camia, then close out the day at the infinity pool and the resort’s sunset restaurant next door (book ahead — it fills up).

Day 5 — VinWonders or Safari, Then Home
For your last day, pick either VinWonders (the theme park) or Vinpearl Safari — either one fits comfortably into a 4–6 hour block. Before heading to the airport, pick up souvenirs at KingKong Mart, and grab a banh mi or a burger to go so you’ve got something to eat on the flight.
Estimated Budget (for reference)

If It’s a Honeymoon and You Want to Go Bigger
The route above keeps the budget reasonable. If this is a honeymoon and experience matters more than cost, consider swapping La Festa and Camia for one of these instead.
- Regent Phu Quoc Pool Villa — a fully private villa with its own pool, completely self-contained

- JW Marriott Phu Quoc Suite — a suite with a private-pool option, set in the quieter atmosphere of Emerald Bay

Both already have full reviews on this site — check those for pricing and room details.
Couple Travel Tips
- The Kiss of the Sea show is free for guests at several resorts — worth checking before you book
- Grab is essential; the Vin Bus app is also worth having for trips north
- Plenty of spas offer pickup service — just ask when you book
- For currency, a travel debit card with fee-free overseas ATM withdrawals is the easiest way to get cash locally — set one up before you fly out
FAQ
How many hotels should a couple plan to stay at?
Two or three works well for a trip like this. This route runs a Sunset Town mini-hotel (1 night) → La Festa (2 nights, South) → Camia (1 night, North), so you keep seeing new parts of the island as you move.
How much should we budget?
Excluding flights, plan on roughly $660–730 per person, or $1,320–1,460 for two, to comfortably cover this route.
What’s the best option for a honeymoon?
If experience matters more than cost, go with somewhere that has a private pool — the Regent pool villa or a JW Marriott suite both fit that brief well.
