Stay central and the massage shops, KingKong Mart and local restaurants are all walkable. The airport is close too, which makes it a smart pick for a first or last night. I’ve stayed at all three central resorts in this guide — Salinda, Lahana and M Village — and what’s interesting is you can line them up by exactly one question: how much time do you want to spend outside the resort? It faces west, so sunset turns properly purple over the pool or the beach, and there’s a live band by the pool some evenings, which pushes the whole thing toward romantic. The airport is 10 minutes away by car. The one thing I’d flag: for a 5-star, activities and service run a little thin — this is a place built for sitting still, not staying busy.

Lahana sits on a hill in central Phu Quoc, and it feels like walking into a forest — a bamboo-built reception, small ponds tucked around the property, trees everywhere. Rooms come with an aroma oil lamp, which is a small touch that made check-in feel a bit special. It’s positioned between the central KingKong Mart and the Duong Dong night market, so local restaurants, spas and cocktail bars are all reachable — though the hill itself makes the walk rough at midday.
The real draw is the rooftop pool. You can watch a pink sunset over the west-facing water while you swim, and the poolside restaurant runs a 2-for-1 happy hour on cocktails and beer from 4 to 6pm daily. Pool upkeep was a little behind where I’d want it, but for under $70 a night, it’s hard to complain.

M Village sits right on the main road, which makes it easy to flag a Grab and puts you close to a Vin Bus stop if you’re heading north later in the trip. Restaurants, massage shops and small marts are all walkable, which keeps your day short on transit. Rooms are bungalow-style with garden views through the window, though part of the bathroom opens to the outdoors, so keep the door shut or bugs get in.
One booking detail worth knowing before you reserve: Phu Quoc actually has two properties here — “M Village” and “M Village Tropical” (branded as “M Resort” on Grab and Google Maps) — five minutes apart on foot, sharing a pool, but checking in separately. I found this out the hard way. I’d booked the Tropical side, pinned “M Village” in Grab by mistake, and ended up dragging a suitcase through the rain to the right building. Double-check the exact property and room type before you book.
The pool at the center of the property has that emerald-green color that photographs well, and staying at either side gets you access to both pools. Breakfast is limited in variety, but the made-to-order pho is genuinely good. At this price, in this location, it’s hard to beat.

Picture a day at each and the personalities show up clearly. At M Village, it’s pho at breakfast, a 3-minute walk to a massage, a couple of cafes, sunset at a beach bar — constant motion outward. At Lahana, it’s coffee on the rooftop, claiming a lounger for the morning, happy hour at 4, then swimming through sunset before a Grab to the night market — mostly in, out only at night.
